ABOUT US
MEET OUR BOARD
I grew up in Wisconsin where I saw my parents volunteer for various organizations. Their work instilled a passion in me to make a difference in the lives of those who are less fortunate.
In 2013, My wife Kristy and I moved to Arizona. I am employed by Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona where I fight to end unemployment as an Area Leader of Career Centers for Workforce Development.
My wife and I love to travel and hike with our adorable puppy. We have traveled around the world and throughout Arizona. During our travels, we were struck by the poverty and hunger issues in many locations. As a result, we started volunteering for Manzanita Outreach. Our travels took us to Haiti in 2017. We were able to grow in Christ and to further cultivate Manzanita Outreach’s relationships with the orphanages and schools we support and serve.
In 2016, I was able to attend the Kids Against Hunger national convention where I was able to share Manzanita Outreach’s growth and our unwavering community support.
I have a Bachelors in Urban & Regional Studies and a certificate in non-profit leadership. As a Petty Officer First Class in the Navy, I have served in Spain, Cuba, San Diego, New Orleans and Guam.
I am a retired independent Physical Therapist of 30 years. My husband, Doug, and I moved to Cottonwood in 1983. Doug is a full-time pastor at Verde Valley Christian Church.
After a medical mission trip to Haiti in 2010, Co-founder Kim Gould and I felt led to serve those who suffer both in Haiti and locally. As a result, we founded Manzanita Outreach in 2011.
I am honored and privileged to be called to serve Him through Manzanita Outreach.
1 Chronicles 16:9 says – “For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him.”
My husband, Russ, and I moved from San Diego to Cornville, AZ in 2006. We have two sons. One son is married and lives in San Diego. Our other son is engaged and lives in Tupelo, MS. Our granddaughter, Carly, moved in with us last year and is attending Yavapai College.
While in California, I volunteered for many years on the medical floor of the neonatal unit at San Diego’s Children’s Hospital. Additionally, Russ and I delivered “Meals on Wheels” for five years throughout the San Diego area.
After relocating to Cornville, I joined the firm of John Mahon Tax and Accounting Services in Cottonwood. While working, in 2011, I continued my volunteer efforts by assisting in the startup of the “Pink Heals” organization. Pink Heals is a foundation that supports Verde Valley women with cancer in need of financial assistance. Additionally, I have been very active in the Kids Against Hunger program since 2011.
I’m an avid reader, love to travel, working in my yard, and getting together with family and friends.
I am happily married with three grown sons and six grandkids.
I retired as Manager of One Arizona Credit Union after 24 years of service. I also worked for 9 years as Treasurer of Verde Valley Christian Church in Cottonwood and sat on the Women’s Ministry Board for 2 years.
I have a passion for helping those in need in any way Christ directs me.
I’m a second-generation Arizona native and a long-time resident of the Verde Valley. My wife, Tammy, and I have three children and one grandchild.
I have worked for Arizona Public Service Company for more than three decades as a lineman foreman. I recently received APS’s “Living the Vision” award. I am a graduate of Class VII of Verde Valley Leadership where I took on the role as a key member of their two-year legacy project.
I’m active in my church and volunteer on the audio-visual team. I’m also on the board of deacons.
I enjoy listening to music, restoring historic vehicles, and various outdoor activities. Activities such as RZR, quad riding, camping, remote-controlled aircraft and off-road vehicles.
I was born in Honduras while my parents and grandparents where missionaries there. We moved to Arizona a couple months after I was born. I have lived in the Verde Valley for over 30 years now and have always enjoyed the area.
I graduated from University of Phoenix with a bachelor’s degree in Business Management. My wife and I now own the Sears Hometown Store and Kitchen Tune-Up franchises.
I am proud to be associated with Manzanita Outreach. Out of all the organizations I have worked with over the years, this group has a genuine desire to help fill the needs of people wherever they are… locally and abroad.
